🌍 An India-Nigeria fashion acquisition and Kering's outsider CEO
Your African fashion news & careers update for 26 June 2025

Hi Operators,
Can’t talk much today but some quick notes:
If you understand the Condé Nast leadership structure, you know that the Anna Wintour news basically amounts to her hiring a deputy editor.
H&M’s long relationship with Circulose (formerly Renewcell, in which they invested $29M before the bankruptcy) may finally be bearing some fruit, even if exactly how much fruit is not being specified… this is happening while Syre is partnering with GAP and Target, and while Circ increases its processing power. It’s taken fashion until 2025 to take textile recycling — just recycling — seriously.
We are far from done with the China conversation.
With thanks,
Modupe
